Robertson Leadership Conference

After R&B delivered a last minute conference for them in Newcastle, Robertson felt comfortable and confident enough in R&B Groups ability to produce their Leadership Conference.


The chosen venue for the Leadership Conference was The Crowne Plaza in Newcastle. The hotel were able to provide block booking of all the hotels rooms across the three days for all their staff and R&B crew, and together with meeting rooms of unique design style, the Crowne Plaza offered something different. 

R&B Approach

Having worked on a very last-minute event for Robertson in Newcastle, they had every confidence that we would deliver the high levels of skill and support they needed for their major Leadership Conference here in the North East.

Both R&B Group and Robertson decided that the best venue option for this particular event was the Crowne Plaza. Having worked on many occasions in the Crowne Plaza, we knew this would deliver the best value for senior leaders and all senior staff that were taking time out from their daily routines. The Crowne Plaza was chosen as Robertson were able to book out the hotel, meaning that those attending the conference had somewhere to stay that was not only close, but actually where the event was! Its central location also made it easier for those travelling to get to the venue, with the train station just a stones throw away.

Although the location was great for many reasons, it did also throw R&B Group some challenges.

Robertson wanted a grand event which included not only a stage but a dance floor for their awards night too. This meant our original plan would have been a tight squeeze in the space we had available!

It was suggested that, instead of 12-foot round tables, 10-foot round tables should be considered. Our project manager, John Robinson, went away to draw up a new plan using the new table measurements. Between R&B Group, Robertson and the Crowne Plaza, it was agreed that this would be the best plan of action.

The new table plan left plenty of space for dancing and presenting of the awards. The client was very happy!
