Once again we were contracted to produce The Methodists Conference 2016. It’s a great event that we have done for many years now, and it is one which the lads love to do. It does move from home to home as it re-uses venues from the last few years including London, Birmingham, Southport and Plymouth. It does seem to enjoy it’s time in London which is where we were for the 2016 event this year.
One individual from the event is based in the USA these days and they didn’t get across this year. However, from his days as a policeman we knew him really well and always enjoyed seeing him. He used to go for coffee with Barry on a morning and we got to know each other accordingly! All jolly good stuff!!
The event itself was a good laugh and the production was kept pretty tight mainly, with a great running order and plan which was (almost!!) stuck to on (some!!) days! A good laugh was always had by all the staff who did gradually get to know each other as the weeks went by. It is an 8 day event, with a couple of set-up/de-rig days prior to/after the gig which make it a long time. But it is well worth it and we always got great recognition for providing good equipment that actually works!
Everyone on the gig really enjoyed their time with such an amazing bunch of folk who really made the overall event come to life. We all enjoyed the time in London, the venue, the hospitality and of course, our accommodation, All in all a really tremendous event!
