Next in line for our Meet Team R&B feature is Yorkshire Branch Manager, Gavin Frost. Gavin joined R&B Group as a technician at our head office, before grafting his way though manager of our Harrogate based Yorkshire operation. His training as a stage manager in theatre meant he felt right at home at R&B Group and that must be the case… Gavin has been with the company for nearly 15 years! How time flies! With a penchant for awful jokes and throwback easy listening music, he’s a cheery chap with an attention to detail. Here’s what rocks his world…
NAME: Gavin Frost
JOB TITLE: Branch Manager – Yorkshire
AGE: 39 (until the weekend! *sad face*)
DESCRIBE YOUR AVERAGE WEEK AT R&B GROUP IN NO MORE THAN 50 WORDS:
Being away from the head office in Newcastle my week could include a plethora of tasks, from the general running of the Yorkshire operation (including the hoovering) to project managing awards events for a thousand people. Then there’s venue visits, designing or maybe installing a PA system – anything really!
WHAT THREE THINGS DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT YOUR JOB/WORKING AT R&B GROUP?
- Working with some fabulous clients, it’s great to work with people who are so passionate for events.
- Creativity – I love a good creative brief, something to get excited about, designing, video creation, stuff of that ilk.
- We’re always evolving, whether that processes, new technologies, new equipment or new people, the grass doesn’t grow under your feet, even in beautiful Yorkshire!
HOW DO YOU LIKE TO RELAX?
I’m a bit of a foodie – I love eating and drinking quality, high end produce. I delve into a bit of amateur mixology too (all in moderation of course). Other than that, I’m a keen walker, watch movies and complain about the state of Newcastle United.
WHAT’S YOUR PERFECT MEAL?
Fine dining! I love a superb tasting menu. Fresh seafood too.
IF YOU COULD HAVE ONE SUPERPOWER, WHAT WOULD IT BE? WHY?
Tricky… probably to fly, you’d get everywhere quicker and there’d be some awesome scenery.
IF WE GAVE YOU £10,000 TO SPEND IN ONE HOUR, HOW WOULD YOU SPEND IT?
A Paul Smith suit, a meal at a 3 Michelin star restaurant, a week lost in Jerez somewhere, a new Apple gatget. If there’s anything left, fill the cellar (actually I’d need a cellar first).
TELL US ONE THING WE DON’T KNOW ABOUT YOU.
I’m a Quizmaster at my local pub which is great fun and raises a tidy sum of cash for a local children’s hospice too. Oh and I’ve never been to France…
