MEET TEAM R&B – Bryan Skipsey

Bryan Skipsy

…he’s got the voice of an angel..

Featuring in this week’s Meet Team R&B is Bryan Skipsey. Bryan joined R&B Group many moons ago as a technician and has maneuvered his way around the company before sitting with our senior management team as Operations Manager as he does now. Recently Bryan has been instrumental in rolling out our new equipment management system ‘Current’ and is always striving to better the ways we work at R&B Group. Bryan is our go-to man with equipment and logistical issues when they (rarely) occur and he prides himself on his lightning response to finding solutions. Though he still like to remain hands on and occasionally escapes the office to have a play with lighting fixtures on site. Here’s our Bry in a nutshell…

NAME: Bryan Skipsey

JOB TITLE: Operations Manager

AGE: 43

DESCRIBE YOUR AVERAGE WEEK AT R&B GROUP IN NO MORE THAN 50 WORDS:

Most of my days are taken over by keeping an eye on the new system we recently implemented. I also make sure that the day-to-day running of the warehouse operations are ticking along nicely and events are going out and coming back as planned, which they generally do! Oh and beating Kevin Floyd to the microwave at lunchtimes!

WHAT THREE THINGS DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT YOUR JOB/WORKING AT R&B GROUP?

  1. Some great people to work alongside
  2. Being given the trust to do my job and push ahead with developing areas of the business
  3. A nice relaxed atmosphere in the office, always some good banter going on

HOW DO YOU LIKE TO RELAX?

A bottle of wine or glass of beer in the hot tub… or should that be the other way around!?

WHAT’S YOUR PERFECT MEAL?

A nice hot tasty curry and a few pints of lager with the company of good friends

IF YOU COULD HAVE ONE SUPERPOWER, WHAT WOULD IT BE? WHY?

The ability to fly so that I could dodge the rush hour traffic.

IF WE GAVE YOU £10,000 TO SPEND IN ONE HOUR, HOW WOULD YOU SPEND IT?

Straight to the travel agent and book a couple of fantastic cruises for the family

TELL US ONE THING WE DON’T KNOW ABOUT YOU.

I appeared on Songs of Praise in the 80s at Washington Old Hall. I was stand in for Aled Jones as he had tonsillitis… well ok, maybe not but you can see me on the TV in my bright yellow raincoat!
