Here at the R&B Group we boast an extensive range of event production and communication services, which is why so many of our clients choose us when looking for help setting up their important events. From live event support to creative event design and much, much more, we have the knowledge, expertise and skills needed to ensure your event is a complete success and a night to remember, but what we often find our clients struggle with is choosing an appropriate theme. That’s why we’ve drawn up a list of five of the best event themes that always guarantee a fun night for all involved!
#1: Hollywood glamour
Perfect for a black tie awards ceremony, a Hollywood glamour theme will ensure all of your guests turn up dressed to impress and to grace the red carpet. The theme gives you the opportunity to create an elegant yet exciting setting, dressing the stage with bright lights and the tables with film star quotes, champagne flutes and fancy place settings. As with all Hollywood events the paparazzi are ever-present, which gives you the chance to take some fantastic pictures of your guests, making them feel special and welcome at your event. Just remember to clearly state the dress code on the invitation!
#2: Summer garden party
If you’re hosting your event in the summer and are lucky enough to have the weather to take it outdoors, then a summer garden party is the perfect theme for you. Fruity cocktails and ice creams will make for delicious light refreshments, while games of croquet and a live band will really set the day or evening off. A summer garden party would be appropriate for a more informal event, though cocktail dresses and linen suits would be ideal for a warm day!
We often cater to a number of events that see generations come together and work colleagues both old and new combine. Whether it’s a school reunion or a company birthday, a nostalgia theme would be the perfect opportunity for guests to relive one of their favourite eras. For example, if your company began in the ‘80s, you could request your guests wear their ‘80s work attire and continue the ‘80s theme throughout, projecting images of staff during the time on the walls and playing ‘80s music during the evening. It’s a great way to encourage your guests to interact and become involved in the event.
#4: Mexican fiesta
Is your event being held in order to celebrate a retirement, a good year for the company or an older colleague’s birthday? A Mexican fiesta theme is a great way to ensure the evening is relaxed and full of fun and flavour! Finger food, tacos and margaritas would make for a tasty feast, and you could even decorate your venue with bright colours and banners. You need only tell us the colour scheme you want to follow and we can set up lights and cameras to create the effect you want to achieve!
#5: Out of this world
If you’re celebrating your company success or a particular achievement, an out of this world theme seems more than fitting! Whether or not you invite your guests to dress up to suit the theme, you can have great fun decorating your venue, using project mapping to create weird and wonderful effects on the walls and our set design and build experts to create a fantastical stage and props. The moment your guests walk through the door they should feel excited to be at your event and with this theme, they’re likely to be talking about it for some time.
If you like the idea of any of these themes or have some interesting and innovative ideas of your own, we would love to help you bring them to life. Why not get in touch with the team at R&B Group and we can put our heads together to start planning your unforgettable event?
