Nissan Qashqai Sunderland launch
Usually we’re given at least a few months notice when our services are required for an event, but Nissan were let down by their former event production company and turned to us just a couple of weeks before the new Qashqai’s launch event! The event was held in the reception and presentation area of Nissan’s Sunderland factory – far from a conventional event venue and adding an extra challenge for our team. We developed a proof of concept, storyboard and the creative content for the event in less than a week. We then spent another day installing the equipment and aligning the projectors, before holding a day of rehearsals. The event itself went ahead successfully, with Nissan greatly appreciative of our high quality work at such short notice. See the results of our efforts on our Nissan Qashqai launch event case study page – not bad for such a rapid turnover!
North East Business Awards Grand Final
We’re always proud to produce local events – especially events that celebrate the achievements of exceptional local people! For the North East Business Awards Grand Final 2013, we worked with long term client ncj Media to meet the brief that they had given us: to bring a new and fresh look to their annual event. Our client wanted the best North East Business Awards Ceremony ever, with a strong focus on the event’s branding and a ‘wow factor’ for the audience – whilst still falling within the normal budget of the event.
We made extensive use of projection mapping at the event – a relatively new event technology that is becoming more and more affordable for the corporate event market. It involves the simultaneous use of projection, lighting and the set design itself to bring the stage and set to life. We integrated the event branding into the 3D set and the projection, allowing us to make use of colour and lighting to create an amazing experience for the event attendees. Project Leader Paul Borthwick said that both the audience and event sponsors gave the client plenty of fantastic feedback regarding the event production. Our work at the North East Business Awards Grand Final was recognised with two AV awards! Want to learn more about our work at this event? Check out the business awards case study page.
Temporary museum for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee
Another event for which we were given relatively short notice to prepare was the creation of a temporary museum in Sunderland for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee visit. We worked alongside a marquee company to design and ‘build’ a museum for the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh to look around. We were given the chance to flex our considerable set design muscles, with the seven previously empty marquees transformed into a series of rooms reflecting the history and growth of Sunderland during Her Majesty’s reign. This was a unique experience for us and one that was highly rewarding for all involved!
