This year’s Event Production Show took place at Earls Court on the 11th and 12th of February. The Event Production Show is one of the standout dates on the event exhibition calendar, bringing together dozens of event production, event technology and event management companies.
The show got off to a fantastic start with visitor numbers increasing 25% on last year’s turnout. The first evening featured the Event Production Awards ceremony and dinner, attended by 600 guests. At the exhibition itself, many different event companies displayed their latest innovations and products. A number of the scheduled talks ran out of space for eager attendees to pack into, with many having to resort to standing at the back of the room. A particularly popular talk was by Henry Simmonds of Jack Morton Worldwide and Melvin Benn of Festival Republic, who discussed experimental event marketing.
Other highlights included a dedicated event technology theatre and production area. Donna Bushell, event director, said that she had been thrilled by the positive feedback the exhibition had received. Bushell said that the show had aimed to be ‘interactive, inspirational and content driven,’ in contrast to exhibitions that focus almost entirely on networking and sales. The Event Production Show 2015 will share a new venue with another major events industry exhibition, International Confex. The combined event will take place at Olympia London on the 18th and 19th of February 2015.
